AKB48 member Moeno Nito will be graduating from the group after deciding to pursue other interests.
Nito, a 5th generation, team A AKB48 member, made the announcement on February 14th during a team A stage performance at the AKB48 theater. After the performance, the idol wrote a blog explaining her decision to leave the group.
"I began to seriously consider graduating when I turned 20 and made up my mind at the end of last year. I joined AKB48 as a 5th generation member and have experienced many things; however, I've been thinking a lot about my standing position, how I should support AKB48, and also, how it would positively affect me," she said
"This pace is not my goal after all, and I don't plan on remaining a member of AKB. I want to graduate and experience more things! I want to try my best improving my own skills!," she continued.
Nito does not plan on graduating immediately. Instead, she has decided to leave only after her 5th anniversary wit the group on April 28th. A definite graduation date has not been determined.
